Earlier last week franchise owners around Australia headed north to sunny Cairns to attend the Just Better Care Annual Franchise Owner’s Conference. It was an informative two days that gave attendees the opportunity to connect and share experiences of providing in-home care to their local communities.

The conference had a focus on cultural diversity and inclusion with a presentation from Cecelia Anthony, Director at Diverse Werks and an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workshop from Sylvia McGregor and Isaac Mundraby from Mentor Coordinator Connections Inc.

Lorraine Poulos from Lorraine Poulos and Associates delivered two presentations: the importance of exceptional standards in quality and compliance in the current market of community care and delivering clinical care in the home safely.

The Annual Franchise Awards dinner was held on the Monday evening. It is an opportunity for Just Better Care to celebrate the achievements of the franchise owners over the past year. Six Franchise Awards were presented, including awards for Best Business Practice, Innovative Local Area Marketing, Outstanding Customer Service, People and Culture, Outstanding Growth and Franchise of the Year.

Chief Operating Officer, Alison Chandler commended the efforts of all Just Better Care franchises for consistently delivering a high standard of in-home aged care and disability support services, to customers in their respective communities.

“It is always such a challenging process determining the winners of each category. Every franchise owner and their staff are dedicated to best practice and invest their time and energy towards delivering exceptional care to their customers,” Ms Chandler said.

Just Better Care Ryde Parramatta and Bankstown owners, Lyn and Tony Caruso, received the overall Franchise of the Year award for demonstrating consistent quality business practice, service delivery and excellence in multiple award categories.

Just Better Care Mornington, was awarded the Innovative Local Area Marketing Award, and the Outstanding Growth Award went to two franchises – Just Better Care Hills to Hornsby and Brisbane North and CBD.

Just Better Care Hawkesbury Nepean and Blue Mountains received the Best Business Practice Award, the Outstanding Customer Service Award was won by Just Better Care Western Victoria, and the People and Culture Award went to Just Better Care Gippsland.

“The awards night is always a really wonderful experience,” Ms Chandler said.

“It is inspiring spending time with our franchise owners as they gather together from across Australia to celebrate as a group, not just the winners of awards, but the outstanding services that our network of business owners and their staff provide to our customers.”

The day conference was filled with interesting guest speakers.
