In the Blue Mountains, most aged care searches return nursing homes. We do the other thing: support that comes to you, in the home you already live in.
Just Better Care Blue Mountains has been supporting older Australians, people living with disability, their Carers and their families from our Richmond office since 2007. Our team of 48 Support Workers and 15 office team members, including two registered nurses, covers the Lower and Mid Mountains from Lapstone and Glenbrook through Springwood and Winmalee to Hazelbrook and Lawson.
We support customers with Support at Home funding, NDIS plans, and private arrangements paid for directly, with no assessment and no waiting list.
At Just Better Care Blue Mountains, we’re proud to support a vibrant, diverse community across the region. We know that no two customers are the same. That’s why our in-home and community support services are tailored to each person’s needs, goals, and preferences.
With a highly experienced and compassionate team, we provide a wide range of disability support and aged care services designed to help people live safely, independently, and confidently at home.
Our team is available Monday to Friday during business hours. Support services are delivered 24/7, ensuring help is always within reach.
If you’re looking for reliable, personalised care in the Blue Mountains, we’re here to help. Please tell us what you need, and we’ll create a support plan that’s right for you. Reach out today to get started.
We have consistently provided quality home care services in the Blue Mountains since 2007. Some of the customers who came to us in those first years are still with us today.
Support workers, nurses, and office staff with more than four years of tenure.
Within the suburbs we operate in, such as Lapstone, Glenbrook, and Lawson.
The Australian Government's Support at Home program replaced the Home Care Package program on 1 November 2025. Just Better Care Blue Mountains is proud to be an approved Support at Home provider.
Our local office team, based in Richmond, meets with participants, their families and advocates to understand the program and build a range of ongoing support services, from clinical nursing to help around the home.
The Australian Government's Support at Home program funds clinical, independence and everyday living support for older Australians, covering everything from nursing and personal care to transport, domestic assistance and respite for Carers. Just Better Care Blue Mountains is an approved Support at Home provider, and our Richmond-based team can talk you through eligibility and what your plan can include.
The Support at Home service lists funded support groups into three categories:
Our local office team meets with you, your Family and any advocate you choose, walks you through how the program works, and builds an ongoing schedule of support services from clinical nursing through to help around the home.
Whether you’re transitioning from the Home Care Package program or are new to Support at Home, contact the local team for expertise and advice on the next steps. Interested in what Happened to Home Care Packages?
Receive high-quality clinical support without leaving home. Our experienced nurses provide personalised, compassionate care designed to help you manage your health, recover comfortably, and stay independent. Whether you need ongoing clinical care, short-term post-hospital support, or specialised nursing assistance, we tailor every service to your needs and your doctor’s recommendations.
Our in-home nursing services can include wound care, medication management, chronic condition support, health monitoring, palliative care, and more. With flexible scheduling and a trusted local team, we ensure you get the professional care you need when and where you need it.
If you’re looking for reliable in-home nursing in the Blue Mountains, we’re here to help. Reach out to discuss a personalised plan that fits your health needs and lifestyle.
Caring for someone is not a job you can clock off from, which is why respite exists. Our team can step in for a couple of hours so you can get to your own appointment, for a full day, or overnight.
In-home respite: we come to the house, so the person you care for stays in familiar surroundings with their own routine.
Community respite: a Support Worker takes them out to an appointment, a club, the shops, or just a drive.
Overnight and extended respite cover so you can sleep, travel, or have surgery of your own.
If you have Support at Home funding, in-home respite generally sits within the independence category of the service list, so it may already be covered by your plan. If you don't have funding, or you need something this week, private respite is available through Just Better Care Private with no assessment and no waiting list.
One thing we hear often from Carers: the hardest part isn't asking for help; it's trusting the person who turns up. That's why we introduce the Support Worker before the first shift, and why we keep the same person coming back.
Just Better Care Adelaide is a proud member of Ageing Australia, the national peak body representing aged care providers.
Our membership reflects our commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement in aged care services.
We come to you. Everything we do happens in your own home and your own community. We're an in-home provider, not a residential aged care home.
I have a Home Care Package. What happens now?
Your funding moves across to Support at Home, and you keep it. You don't need to be reassessed, and you don't go back to the start of any queue.
How quickly can support start?
Private support can usually start within days, with no assessment. Support at Home and NDIS depend on your funding being in place. We'll be honest with you about timing for your suburb rather than promising something we can't staff.
Do you provide nursing?
Yes. Our team includes two registered nurses, and we deliver clinical support including wound care, medication support and continence support.
At Just Better Care in the Blue Mountains, we take a personalised approach to each customer, whether they are a new Support at Home participant or an existing Home Care Package customer transitioning from another provider. Our local team ensures that everyone receives dedicated quality support services. Our staff helps participants get the most from their funding and maximise the support services available to them. Unlike many other Blue Mountains home care providers, our Support Workers maintain balanced caseloads, allowing them to give you the individual attention, guidance, and support you need.
Backed by a compassionate local care team who go above and beyond, we’re easy to contact, quick to respond, and committed to helping you live well and independently at home
Mark came to us in 2009. He is legally blind and has an intellectual disability, and when his services were first brokered to us, he was living with his mother and brother.
His mother passed away not long after, and his brother was no longer able to care for him. Mark lost the support network he had relied on his whole life. He moved into shared accommodation, his anxiety climbed, and he struggled to trust anyone around him.
It took years, not weeks. Our Support Workers and office team built trust slowly. We advocated for him, raised concerns about where he was living, and worked with his funder until he was somewhere he actually felt safe.
Today Mark is a direct customer with a dedicated team of Support Workers he knows and trusts. He trains at the gym, has competed in bodybuilding competitions, and every year we support him to get to the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
The competitions are impressive. What we're proudest of is the confidence behind them.
Our friendly team is here to guide you through your options and help you find the right level of care.

We have work available in the Blue Mountains right now, and we're being upfront about why: we get more enquiries from Mountain families than we currently have Support Workers to cover. If you live in the Blue Mountains, we would like to hear from you.
Our Support Team comes from everywhere. Some have spent decades in care. Others changed careers entirely after looking after someone they love. Several have been with us for more than 10 years, and one for 18. People also grow here; team members who started as Support Workers have moved through Coordination roles into senior positions in the office.
88% of our team says Just Better Care is a Great Place to Work®, well above the national average, three years running. Discover why our team loves what they do.
