A coronavirus is a type of virus. As a group, coronaviruses are common across the world. Typical symptoms of coronavirus include fever and a cough that may progress to a severe pneumonia causing shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. Generally, coronavirus can cause more severe symptoms in people with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with long-term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.
Steps we are taking to protect our staff and customers:
Staying up-to-date with the latest news on COVID-19, released by the applicable state and national government agencies.
Monitoring updates from the Department of Health and the Australian Government concerning the national vaccination rollout plan.
Encouraging COVID-19 vaccination when it is made available to customers and staff.
Reinforcing the training available to all Just Beter Care staff and Community Support Professionals on COVID-19 and infection control.
Communicating our Emergency Preparedness Plan to employees.
Increasing handwashing and hand-sanitising protocols: upon arrival, before/after direct contact and at regular intervals throughout the day.
Wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with state based department of health guidelines.
Limiting customer exposure by helping with tasks outside of the home such as medication collection, groceries and running errands on their behalf.
Responding quickly to any customer symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough and shortness of breath) and seeking medical advice where appropriate.
Complying with all COVID-19 guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) and all applicable federal, state and local requirements
As this situation evolves, we will continue to take proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers and staff.
