Industry experts from across the Just Better Care network and further afield came together last week to share their insights and experiences at the 2018 September Franchise Forum. The forum focused on workforce development and provided a great opportunity for Franchise Owners, Operations Managers and HR Managers to connect and collaborate. The recent Aged Care Workforce Strategy Taskforce was a popular topic, sparking conversations about current and future workforce challenges and opportunities in the community care sector. Just Better Care Human Resources Manager Rebecca Harris said the two-day forum was an opportunity to reflect on the bright future of community care and how the Just Better Care network is preparing for its continued growth. “Thank you to our speakers, Dianne Adamson from Adamson Associates, Colleen Harris from SafeWork NSW, and Richard Hardy from FranklinCovey Pty Ltd, as well as our Just Better Care speakers, for sharing their valuable knowledge at the forum,” Ms Harris said. “The forum was the ideal setting to discuss and plan for the growth of community care, with a focus on the continued delivery of quality services and addressing staffing needs to match consumer demands. “With an Australia-wide network, the forum was a fantastic opportunity to bring everyone together to gain local insights from a range of regional, rural and metropolitan locations and learn how we can use those insights to support workforce development and further increase the quality of our services. “Thank you to all the Just Better Care owners for their attendance and contributions.” Attendees remarked that the forum was a chance to hear from other professionals about what they are doing well and share experiences. It was an opportunity they said will be advantageous when preparing for changes and periods of business growth.
