1. Meal Preparation
Grocery shopping and meal planning can be a tonne of fun. But it can also be a stress you can probably do without. Well aware of the importance of a balanced diet to your overall health, Just Better Care has a professional local team on hand able to do everything from writing your grocery lists and placing an online order, to unpacking your groceries and preparing your meals. To save you having to contemplate future meals, we can even help you batch cook larger quantities to store in your fridge or freezer for down the track.
2. Attending cultural or religious meetings
Being active in your community is one of the best ways to foster great relationships and keep feelings of isolation at bay. As a key part of your support network, Just Better Care Support Workers can help to identify activities that interest you and assist you to take an active part. This can include supporting you to attend cultural or religious meetings and driving you there and back. In cases where you may find it physically or emotionally difficult to attend by yourself, we can even accompany you at events, in whatever capacity that works for you.
3. In-home nursing
We all need help from time to time, especially when it comes to recovery after illness, an accident or serious long-term diagnosis. With a number of registered and enrolled nurses on our team, we have suitably qualified professionals to help administer your medications and help manage your clinical needs, without you being required to leave home. Our in-home nursing services can include everything from monitoring your vital signs to supporting you with your continence needs. When requested, we can even help with the removal of staples and sutures after surgery.
4. Carer respite
Maintaining close relationships with your loved ones is critical to your mental wellbeing and future happiness. While caring for a loved one can be among the most rewarding experiences, it can also prove one of the most difficult. It is for reasons such as this that Just Better Care has a team of experienced local Support Workers ready to step in when your usual carer can’t. To help balance your carer’s own needs, we can provide respite on an occasional or regular basis. This support can help you both with whatever you need assistance with, including personal care, nursing support, shopping or help around the home.
5. Help with your laundry
We understand that keeping things just the way you like them helps fortify you to face challenges in other areas of your life. But life gets in the way and sometimes it may prove harder to stay on top of these sorts of tasks than you first thought.
Helping around the home is what we do best. Whether it’s cleaning your floors, taking out your rubbish bins, making your bed or assisting with changing your linen and towels, we have team members for the job. While our Support Workers are prohibited from completing tasks that involve heavy lifting or labour-intensive cleaning, your local Just Better Care office can help arrange cover for these types of tasks.
It’s important to remember that all Home Care Package restrictions are determined by the Federal Government and funded on an individual basis. Eligibility requirements may need to be considered and on occasion third party assistance may be required.
